Mission
The object of this site is to provide you with commentary, tools and other resources to take some of the guesswork out profitable investing for the low and mid-range investor by sharing techniques that have worked for us.
One of our favorite methods for investing is employing variations of Phil Town's Rule #1 methodology for determining both long and short candidates.
If you would like to beta test the MR1 screener tool please contact us and I will send you a promo code to enroll at no cost.
Ok, so I've posted a while back since I don't have time to trade any more, I went long in SDS (Ultra Short/Inverse) S&P very heavy as it looked like the market overall had no where to go but down.
Well, that has been doing VERY well. I am spending 10 minutes every couple days max, taking some profits on market dips and buying up more on rallies.
Rule #1 is don’t lose money. If you’re not losing, well, you are winning, or at least preserving capital to an extent. Rule #1 Investing is also a book by Phil Town on his investment strategy that was taught to him by mover and shaker while he was guiding them on a river rafting adventure. His methodology is similar Warren Buffet and Benjamin Graham, and is based against the theory of market efficiency. Of all the books I’ve read or skimmed, this is one of the few I would recommend for someone interested in long term stock market investing.
We're getting close to having the new site operational complete with our Rule #1 styled stock screening database (now called MR1) that everyone has been anxious for.
Feel free to create an account and we'll keep you in the loop as we tie up the loose ends. Also, please participate in the forums with any questions, comments, etc. We want that to be a quality resource for all those Phil Town R1'ers out there, particularly when used with our tools.
The MR1 Stock Screener Tool is complete. We are in the process of refining the interface and completing this website you are viewing now. If you are interested in a beta testing account please contact us.
To stay posted on the availability please register for an account here and we will keep you in the loop.
With the market being down, there is has been a lot of opportunity created and lots of stocks to research. Only six months ago, R1's were few and far between, but as of late, there are around 100 we have determined worth further review at first glance.
